Kenny Wallace about to make start No. 400
A midweek look at NASCAR's No. 2 group on tour, the Nationwide Series:
3 to Watch
• JAMES BUESCHER: Makes his third series start this weekend and second consecutive for Braun Racing. He finished 18th and 14th in his first two races.
• JOEY LOGANO: Became the series' youngest race winner last weekend. He has two poles and a win in three starts. What's next on his 'to do' list, lap the field?
• BRYAN CLAUSON: Starting to pull away in the rookie of the year standings after earning his career-best finish at Kentucky.
Observations
• Kenny Wallace has been a successful, if not entertaining, driver in the Nationwide Series and will reach a significant milestone this weekend when he makes his 400th career start. He becomes just the third driver to reach that mark, joining Jason Keller (438) and Tommy Houston (417). Ironically, Wallace's racing career began in 1986 in Milwaukee, when he competed in an American Speed Association race.
• Hendrick Motorsports development driver Landon Cassill is getting plenty of track time. He will pull an unusual triple duty this weekend, running in both the Truck and Nationwide series races Friday and Saturday at Milwaukee and will toss in a dirt modified race in Vinton, Iowa, on Sunday for good measure.
• How wild would it be to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. competing for his first Sprint Cup championship this season while his Nationwide team driver Brad Keselowski is battling for his first series title as well?
